Bought one when I started reloading. Read da instructions. * this, said I. Never put a speck a powder on it. Immediately ordered a Pact, been happy ever since. Gave the Lee to Jtrade, he a prolly wind up doin the same thang.
Digital...the only weigh to weigh.

Man, I hated that scale. I think 40% of my early reloading sessions was spent trying to calibrate and weight charges using that thing. In a way I am glad it pissed me off so much though...I used to yell at it all the time in front of my wife and it drove her nuts so she took me to Sportsmans Warehouse to get a Lyman DPSII on sale plus military discount! It seems a lot of people really like the RCBS scales...might check eBay and see if you can find one cheap.

HI Anthony......I have the Dillon Eliminator and works like a champ. Settles down quickly and like most analog scales....very accurate. I've checked it against my little digital scale and they both read the same everytime. I actually like the Eliminator the best cause I zero in how many grains I want and can see in an instant if I'm low or high and adjust accordingly. You could always get one of them really fancy digitals.

Go digital, you won't regret it. I have the RCBS Range Master 750 scale, and it works like a champ. A lot quicker then the old Dillon analog that I had.

I have two scales... an RCBS 505 and a Lyman Pro 500.
Both are accurate, but I prefer the RCBS as it has a metal base and 3 bar markers instead of 2. (Long, boring story as to why i have 2 scales). I will probably sell or trade the Lyman at some point.

I just got my Dillon Eliminator scale last night and put it to the test today. It was easy to zero, easy to read and adjust. I was running out the last of my tightgroup powder today and I weighted every charge for the last 40 cases. It settled quickly every time. The zero is easy to adjust which is not the case with every scale. It also has a nice weight. For a lifetime guarantee item I think it's a best buy in the under $50 range of a scale. I may go shoot my Lee at the range right now if no one is there but me. Now that I have used a real scale that thing is a joke and simply shouldn't be inflicted on anyone else.
Edit: Another great thing is I don't need to use a powder funnel to fill my 9mm cases any longer.

That scale looks to have a very similar pan to the Lee. Trust me you want a pan like the Dillon with a nice long neck.

I use one. To confirm my Dillon Terminator readings only. Excellent for that purpose. Not sure it would work out as my primary scale.

I agree, the Lee is next thing to unusable as far as I'm concerned...touchy, hard to read accurately and slow. As someone else mentioned, I use the RCBS Rangemaster 750 and find it excellent, but...I prefer to have a good beam as a backup and counter-check on the electronic. I've used a few through the years and honestly, the Dillon Eliminator seems a very good value at $49.95 and I'm entirely happy with mine. IMO, you'd have to lay out about double that (or more) for something better.

I can't even get mine balanced to use. I've been waiting for an MTM DS 1200 Mini Digital Reloading Scale from Kempf's Gun Shop (http://www.kempfgunshop.com/products/reloading/electronicsc/DS1200.html). Its on backorder. I need to call them and see how much longer.

Creo,
I started with the same Hornady magnetically dampened scale. It works as well as any other beam scale, I suppose. I never had problems with mine.
I splurged a year or two ago for a RCBS Rangemaster 750 digital and I friggin' love it. It would be hard to go back, having viewed the promsed land.

I bought this last night off eBay. (http://cgi.ebay.com/1542-Grains-gn-100-x-01-gram-RELOADING-GUN-POWDER-SCALE_W0QQitemZ270222282169QQihZ017QQcategoryZ7111 9QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and canceled the one from Kempf. If this doesn't work I haven't lost much.

I've got a small digiweigh. It isn't consistent enough for me to trust it with powder, but I use it to sort bullets.

Sure, I figured out how to use them.
One uses the friction tab to set the scale at the desired weight setting. Use a dipper or powder drop, then use a powder trickler to gradually add powder to the pan until the bar hits the marker on the scale.

Got to put in my $.02 here......
Still using the RCBS 5-0-5 that I bought back in 1973, haven't found a reason to change yet.
Got access to a lab-grade digital in the R&D at work, reads to 5th decimal place, can pick up a period from a #2 lead pencil on a slip of paper, costs around 3 grand !
Did my calibration weights on it & the $24.95 (when I bought it !) RCBS is almost spot on. I think it's the 2nd oldest item in my loading equipment, only my Lee priming tool(the old one w/screw in shell holders) is older unless you want to count my Lee Loader in .44 mag !
There might be a digital in my future, but only because of my crappy eyesight !
