A couple of days ago I drove past my neighbor's house, the neighbor was sitting in his garage and waved at me as he usually does. A half block later I realized what he was doing, I backed up and pulled into his driveway. The guy was casting bullets like there was no tomorrow, we talked about casting for almost an hour. You could tell by his equipment, technique and knowledge that he had been doing it for quite a while, his finished bullets were things of beauty. I've found my new favorite neighbor, now if the Obama lovers living next to me would move.

Just post one of the gun free house signs in their front yard. ;)

I actually just discovered a shooting friend of mine started casting. He has an unlimited supply of lead through his work. He told me to buy the molds that I want and he'd let me use his equipment and more importantly his lead.

Kinda hard to turn down an offer like that. I've been thinking about learning how to cast my own, seems like a no brainer way to get started.

My eyes teared up from the beauty of it.

BP,

Tell him to sign up here and post some pictures (since you don't know how).

Sweet! An unlimited supply of lead (presuming it is legit) is quite an incentive to get into casting. Its like bermining but without the dirt and the collection hassle.

Yeah, I was thinking his whole story sounded kind of fishy. After all, my next door neighbor cast the greatest bullets too. Oh, and my other neighbor is a Playboy centerfold who thinks I'm sexy. There, top that. :dita:

What type of work does he do that gives the unlimited supply of lead? I may need to branch out to someone in that industry and make a new friend.

I don't know exactly what they use lead for at his place of employment. I also get walnut media by the bucket full from him anytime I want it.:yesnod:

He works for a company that makes commercial explosives. I will have to assume that he is getting it legitimately, as he has commented about how well documented and guarded every aspect of their business is.

"I really like this neighbor"

"He works for a company that makes commercial explosives."

Done. FWIW, those ingredients make Tannerite, a perfectly legal binary explosive.
