WIll be in the Chicago area and looking for a match to shoot during my visit. Most any type of match would do IDPA or IPSC. Anyone in this area and know where to look for information? Anyone shoot in this area?
Thanks

Jim, side note. I'm not far from Chicago and should be home then. If you want to meet for dinner or a drink on the IN side of the border, I'd be happy to. Chicago is about 90 miles from PM and myself.
There might be an IDPA match in SW lower MI, that shouldn't be to far of a drive from Chicago.
ETA: Just looked, it's Sept. 6.

Sounds good. PM knows some folks in/around Chicago land, he can probably recommend something. I know his schedule is getting packed for the end of the third quarter and the fourth, I'm not sure if he'll be around.
IN carry laws are loose if any of you will be bringing an iron with you. Can carry in 51+% establishments and may consume and carry without limit (not that I recommend this obviously). All out of state permints/licenses honored.

There is an IDPA match at the Berrien County Sportsman Club (http://www.bcsportsmansclub.com/events/BCSCIDPA2009.pdf) on September 12 in Berrien Springs. Its about a 2 hour drive from Chicago.

Michigan City Rifle Club (http://www.michigancityrifleclub.com/index.php/component/jcalpro/day/date/2009-09-13/1) has an IDPA match on September 13.

I think there is a steel match in New Buffalo, MI that weekend too.
I will most likely be shooting a SASS match at my home club on September 12. I would be glad to share equipment if you wanted to come over and shoot it.
If you wanted to shoot the IDPA match in Michigan City on September 13 I would go and shoot. After the match we could have lunch. A friend of mine owns an excellent wood-fired pizza restaurant. He's 2A friendly. Michigan City is the closest to Chicago. About an hour east.
Where are you going to be in Chicago?

If you like good food and dining recommendations check out LTH Forum.com (http://www.lthforum.com).
You can dine high or low end. But any suggestion made there will be an excellent meal. I know of several places too.

If you meet Jim, don't shake his hand. It's always covered with ink.

Berrien County is a nice club, that where I shoot when I'm home. In all the years I've been a member, I have yet to shoot a match up there due to time. It's a bit of a drive from Chicago though.

We stopped using line o type before I was born. Or I would be a caster allready.
Dan and Pitmaster trying to figure out a night we could meet for dinner. Will make contact as it get closer and I look at all my schedule events. Shooting a match will be tough

Ink is much better than other substances in which his hands could be covered.
