Currently I am loading 45 ACP on my 550 using the Dillon dies. Everything is going quite well. Except for when I change bullet types and must adjust the bullet seating depth. Plus, I minimally taper so placing the bullet on the brass can take a moment or so while I balance the bullet. I do like the Dillon being able to flip over the die for SWC shapes.

I am looking at the Redding Competition Seater Die because of the micrometer adjustment in 1mil increments and the guiding/straightening of the bullet into the die and brass.

Does anyone have experience with this die on the 550 loading 45 ACP and would you recommend it?

I use these dies on my semi-progressive. The reason I bought them was precisely the same as yours, and they work quite well.

918v,

You mention using these dies. I am about to start loading 223 Rem. Do you have experience with these on necked rifle bullets?

Yes, I have them in .223 and .22-250. I love used to love them until I found that I liked the RCBS Competition Dies better. They have a window into which you drop the bullet... neat!

Thanks, I will look into the RCBS dies for .223 also.
