Hi all,

The fiance and I were finishing up dinner and watching a movie in our living room when she heard a door open/ shut. Of course, I didn't hear crap because I am deaf :).

Anyway, grabbed my duty weapon from under the pillow next to me (my normal routine after work would be to get into my pjs and carry my off duty ((in holster)) around with me). Last night I had my issued weapon (older gen.2 G19) with me.

Anyway, I grab it and try to get the dog (a jack russell X), but she won't go upstairs. I went ahead and cleared the house... no incident and the F decides it was a door moved by the wind or whatever.

I have no idea why I am posting this, but just wanted to share. I work in really bad areas in eastern DC where my partner and I would clear houses on our own all the time. I know that I become complacent, expecting not to find anything. Only once was there a threat and that ended well. I guess I don't actually believe that someone will be inside my home.

Just rambling..

Best-

After a bag full of White Castles, I can clear just about any house (even the dogs head out for fresh air).

White Castle !

Reminds me of my childhood in the Bronx.

tailgunner, that made me laf.

Krystals down here. Eat a half dozen, if you can survive the heart stress long enough to push out 5 cubic feet of toxic ass-gass, you live. So far I have survived at the expense of all those around me.....

Coop, glad you didn't have to shoot anyone.

Been living in inner city Flint for the third quarter. Get that feeling a lot. Keep a Garand and Carbine loaded for two legged critters.

When driving south one of my first meals is the Krystal's in Bowling Green, KY at exit 22.
