I have been a grill man for years, but am ready to move onto the world of true BBQ. I bought a Weber Smokey Mountain and am ready to get it fired up. Looking for sugestions on a good dry rub. Im not sure if this is something that could be used on both pork and beef, if not multiple recipes would be greatly appreaciated.

This is the rub I use most.
1/2 cup paprika
3 tablespoons cayenne pepper
5 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
6 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons onion powder
6 tablespoons salt
2 1/2 tablespoons dried oregano
2 1/2 tablespoons dried thyme

I have it written down somewhere, but I use the one off of Alto Brown's web site.

Dalmatian BBQ rub is a big hit on The Smokering email list. Has been for years.
